Two little chairs

Two chairs carved over two days at the SCA arts trail in Southport. The weather was beautiful but a little hot in  

chainsaw pants. Lots of drink breaks and chatting interspersed with soap carving workshops. All in all a great weekend.

The Arts Trail has come round again, full details in the brochure.
I will be there this Saturday and Sunday doing a little demo of chainsaw carving and you can also have a go at soap carving.
I'm also showing some work at Tracy's studio in Hightown, open both Sundays.

Three Trees

This started off as a stool but as it has developed it may simply sit as a sculpture in it's own right. Lots of ideas for new work have sprung from this, as well as seeing how to improve on this prototype I'd really like to carve an avenue of trees for a long bench idea. Just need to acquire a big enough log.

Fairy Chairs

I'm bringing out a new line of  'fairy chairs'. These will be on sale at my etsy and folksy shops by tonight hopefully.
The tiny ones are currently made from hazel coppice and are about 1.5 inches high.
I plan on making a range of sizes including full size child and adult seats in the near future.

More Bird Boxes !!!!

Following the success of the last workshop with local traveller kids, we ran a two day extra workshop to fill the demand for more bird boxes. Formby pool are looking to site them in their trees next week.

Well done to everyone for all their hard work!

Another owl in the making

Half an hour in the sun with a standard bar on the saw and a quick sand with the grinder before collecting my youngest from play school. Had just enough time to sweep up the mess too.

Barn owl

Finished the owl this afternoon. Really enjoyed carving it in the sunshine.
